Frequently Asked Questions
What is Vitamin B12?Vitamin B12 is a nutrient that helps keep the body’s nerve and blood cells healthy and helps make DNA, the genetic material in all cells. Vitamin B12 also helps prevent a type of anemia called megaloblastic anemia that makes people tired and weak.
How does this compare to ingesting B12?The body’s ability to absorb vitamin B12 from dietary supplements is largely limited by the capacity of intrinsic factor (a substance secreted by the stomach which enables the body to absorb vitamin B12. For example, only about 10 mcg of a 500 mcg oral supplement is actually absorbed in healthy people. (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/17991650?dopt=Abstract)
We've verified successful B12 absorption post-inhalation in our own pilot study. Serum vitamin B12 levels were measured in the test subjects before inhalation of the aerosolized sample and 75 minutes after initial inhalation of the aerosolized sample. Before inhalation, serum B12 levels averaged 403.0 pg/mL. After inhalation, serum B12 levels averaged 424.7 pg/mL, a 5.4% increase compared to B12 levels before inhalation of the sample. This study demonstrated that the aerosolized vitamin B12 rapidly entered the bloodstream when inhaled by the test subjects.
What is B12 deficiency?Vitamin B12 deficiency occurs when there are inadequate levels of the vitamin B12 in the body. This important vitamin is necessary for the production of red blood cells and the healthy functioning of the nervous system. Low vitamin B-12 has also been associated with cognitive decline https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/17991650?dopt=Abstract
What are the symptoms of B12 deficiency?Tiredness, fatigue, weakness, constipation, numbness or tingling hands and feet, balance issues, forgetfulness, confusion and sad/grouchy mood are all possible signs that you need more B12.
What are the ingredients? This product contains USP-Grade Vitamin B12 and vegetable base.
What is In-Vivo Data?Studies that are in vivo (Latin for "within the living"; often not italicized in English) are those in which the effects of various biological entities are tested on whole, living organisms or cells, usually animals, including humans, and plants, as opposed to a tissue extract or dead organism. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/In_vivo)
Our In-Vivo Data presents evidence of B12 absorption in the bloodstream post-inhalation.
